About Us

Zoe is the founder and lead Artist of Tatt Brat. Her creative journey began in childhood, where she entered in competitions and her keen eye for detail flourished. She transitioned from a Portrait Commission Artist, creating works for clients across Australia, to Graphic Design, and ultimately embarked on her tattoo apprenticeship in 2016. After honing her craft in various Newcastle studios, Zoe developed a unique fine line art style, which inspired her to create Tatt Brat - an inviting space for likeminded creatives. Zoe’s vision for Tatt Brat is rooted in passion, trust, and creativity, providing a safe and inclusive space for everyone to explore and embrace their artistic potential. She takes immense pride in the thriving community that has blossomed within it.

Birdy started her tattooing journey in 2020, but her experience extends beyond the years. Birdy has always loved to draw but decided after her first tattoo, which was done by Zoe, that tattooing was what she wanted to do. In a full circle moment Birdy commenced work at Tatt Brat and has been following her dream for nearly four years. Birdy is inspired by Australian nostalgia, including native flora and fauna, books and animals. Her style is predominantly fine line/illustrative, but would like to dabble in colour and to tattoo more of her flash designs. There's one thing you must know about Birdy and it's that Wuthering Heights is her favourite book.

Lish has been tattooing for three years. Lish breezed through a tattoo apprenticeship, which made it clear tattooing was what she was made to do. As a kid Lish would create tattoo flash, “I’ve always wanted to tattoo. My dad got me my first tattoo machine when I was 16 - I did some really terrible ones on his back which he won’t let me cover up... Since then I fell in love with it" said Lish. At the start of 2023, Lish started at Tatt Brat and has been booked out since arriving. Whilst Lish’s art is predominantly fine line, Lish dabble’s in realism and wants to move towards more Art Nouveau. Lish loves to tattoo bugs, swords and mermaids and really wants to do some more colour pieces for 2024!

Bella has been tattooing for the past 12 months as an apprentice tattooist. With a natural knack for drawing intricate detailed designs for instance, mandala's, Bella knew her skills would translate well to tattooing. Mandala art originates from Buddhism and Hinduism, and is a representation of the inner journey of healing. Bella utilised the comfort of mandala art to transcend the restraints of anxiety. the repetition of the line work extends to a feeling of continuation and growth when it reaches its final form. Bella specialises in fine line work, abstract shape work and micro realism. For Bella, creating art makes her calm and relaxed and hopes this feeling is embraced whilst you're in her hands.

A devoted Mum of three, Kaylah moved to Newcastle five years ago to chase her dream of becoming a tattoo artist. After 12 years in makeup artistry, she transitioned to cosmetic tattooing before embarking on her tattoo apprenticeship. Kaylah loves spending time with her family, enjoying coffee dates, delving into true crime, and embracing all things spooky! Her passion goes beyond creating beautiful tattoos; she strives to provide a safe, comfortable space and experience for her clients. Specialising in fine-line and illustrative styles, she is also eager to learn and explore new techniques.

Shenoa, is a tattoo artist with a passion for creating art that sticks—literally! With two years of experience, she’s had the privilege of working alongside incredible artists and connecting with so many amazing clients along the way. Noa is driven by the opportunity to showcase not only body art but also cosmetic tattooing, while building meaningful relationships with each person she works with. Noa is grateful that she gets to bring her designs to life on others’ skin, and is forever grateful for the chance to do what she loves.

Justin is our apprentice tattoo artist and a longtime creative. He’s been drawing since he was a kid and now channels that into tattooing. His work blends style, personality, and a love for all things hand-drawn. Justin’s work reflects both the nostalgic and the new. Drawing from vintage 80s traditional, filigree, and rococo influences, he blends classic foundations with contemporary techniques and style. His fine line detail and bold character work bring a playful edge to everything he tattoos. Laid-back in energy but focused in practice, Justin stays dialled in on evolving his craft and pushing his style forward.

Sev is our newest apprentice, bringing a fresh burst of creative energy to the Tatt Brat studio. With a deep love for art, the gym, and the occasional cheesy pun, she’s been tattooing for 10 months and is eager to learn and grow within our vibrant community. Sev’s artistic style leans towards illustrative realism, fine line, and traditional designs, and she’s always ready to explore new ideas and techniques. Her warm personality and passion for meaningful conversations make her a joy to be around. Sev is excited to connect with clients and fellow artists alike as she continues her journey in the world of tattooing.

Meet Grace, our Studio Manager and resident momager. She’s the first face to greet you when you walk through the door and the quiet powerhouse keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. With 4 years of experience in social media and management, Grace is the queen of calm amongst the chaos—organising bookings, hyping our artists, curating content, and creating a space where creativity can thrive. A trained fragrance specialist with a love for photography and a sharp eye for detail, she brings her own unique spark to the studio—making sure the vibes are always immaculate, the team feels supported, and the candles are always lit.
